Have a cup of coffee at the New Student Center This brand-new student center offers a relaxing place to eat, shop, meet, surf the Web, watch TV or study. It boasts two food courts, a convenience store, a pub and meeting space. And the Starbucks there is second nationally in sales among Starbucks on college campuses. Students need their caffeine!
Get in shape at the ARC – Anteater Recreation Center This 89,000-square-foot indoor facility offers a wide array of opportunities to improve your fitness program. The state-of-the-art fitness center includes free weights, resistance machines and cardio-vascular equipment. Many classes are offered including step, kickboxing, sculpting, yoga and pilates. You can also join intramural sports, played on 25 acres of outdoor fields.
Sit under a tree at Aldrich Park Take a walk among the rolling hills and shady trees in Aldrich Park, a 19-acre botanical garden in the center of campus. It features more than 11,000 trees and shrubs and is the site for the annual Wayzgoose Medieval Faire.
Appreciate the Art Peruse the student work as well as faculty and guest artist presentations at the University Art Gallery and the ROOM gallery. Or head to the Beall Center for Art & Technology that promotes new forms of creation and expression using digital technologies.
Cheer the Anteater teams Get a ticket to see UCI’s sports teams in action. They’ve been chalking up dozens of firsts lately. For example, the baseball team recently competed in the College World Series for the first time, and the Men’s volleyball captured its first NCAA Championship title. UCI offers a wide range of anteater sports including baseball, volleyball, basketball, volleyball, swimming, golf, tennis, sailing and more.
Enjoy a performance With a full calendar of dance, drama and music performances, there’s always entertainment at the six theaters on the UCI campus.
