Penny Chang

Penny Chang is a first year full-time MBA candidate focusing on Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior. Penny is an international student from Vancouver, Canada. She received her Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resource Management and International Business from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia in 2004. This summer Penny will be a human resources intern with Marriott International.
Prior to attending the Paul Merage School of Business, Penny worked in the education industry for three years. She served as the Director of Teaching Administration of a private education institution located in Taoyuan, Taiwan. The company provided educational services to over 15,000 students and is one of the largest private schools in Asia. Penny was responsible for the HR management of over a hundred international employees from North America, Europe, and Asia. This experience helped Penny develop her leadership skills and decision-making ability in a culturally-diverse organization. It also provided the opportunity for her to specialize in employee recruitment, selection, training, evaluation, and compensation.
Penny chose the Paul Merage School of Business because the program’s small size fosters a supportive network of faculty, friends, and mentors as well as an extremely collaborative learning environment. The small size of the Merage School also provides more opportunities for leadership development.
Penny has a passion for traveling and learning about new cultures and languages. She has visited over 20 countries and hopes to continue exploring the rest of the world. Penny also enjoys yoga, reading, performance arts, and going to the beautiful beaches in Southern California!
