Health Care Executive MBA Program

The business side of healthcare.

The Health Care Executive MBA Program (HCEMBA) merges the medical and healthcare industries with business education in a unique learning environment.

You will gain the fundamentals of management and a thorough understanding of the economic, political, and social dynamics that have reshaped the global healthcare industry. The Merage Health Care Executive MBA (HCEMBA) program is specifically designed for health care professionals who want to expand their business expertise.

Participants in the program come from the intersecting worlds of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, managed care, insurance, health care services, and health care policy.

Many HCEMBAs have advanced or doctoral degrees and all have a proven track record of success within their industries.

The curriculum is carefully structured to expose students to a full range of business disciplines. The courses are designed to address the daily challenges of health and medical industry professionals, with distinguished speakers as an integral part of the program. These activities have been approved for AMA PRA credit.

Unique and Accommodating.

HCEMBA is a 24-month program that begins once each year in the fall. Classes meet only one long weekend each month, from Thursday evening through Sunday noon. This convenient schedule broadens the diversity of the class – allowing doctors to maintain call schedules and others to travel from both national and international locations. The unique schedule of the HCEMBA program encourages close interaction among classmates, and enables a lifelong network of friends and colleagues.

Valuable information technology (IT) support lets you concentrate on learning instead of logistics. The UC Irvine Paul Merage School of Business is one of the most technologically sophisticated business schools in the country. The School pioneered the use of networked laptops in the classroom, and it is now configured for high-speed wireless and wired connectivity. Our Web-based intranet site, called Catalyst, uses state-of-the-art technology to maximize the flow of information between instructors and students. Catalyst is so progressive that it was named one of the top 50 intranet sites in the nation by CIO magazine.
