Undergraduate Program Application Process

Please note that students may only enroll in one (1) of the minors offered through the Paul Merage School of Business.

Accounting Minor

Undergraduate Students

Students are eligible to apply for the minor in Accounting if they have upper-division standing and have completed all prerequisite courses* with a grade no lower than C (2.0) with the exception of Management 30A and Management 30B where students must have earned a grade no lower than B (3.0). Completion of the prerequisite courses does not guarantee admission to the minor in Accounting. Admission is on a competitive basis and students must submit an application, transcripts, and a statement of purpose. Applications are accepted on a quarterly basis. There are a limited number of students admitted to the minor each quarter. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply.

When should I apply?

Please be advised that applications are processed ONCE per quarter. The application deadline is Friday of the 6th week of the quarter (at 5:00 p.m.)

When will I be notified?

Applicants that meet the deadline are notified of their admission status via email by the 8th week of the quarter.

  • Admitted. You may request WEBREG authorization codes for enrollment in the minor courses.
  • Conditionally admitted. You may request WEBREG authorization codes once evidence of completion of the prerequisites is submitted.
  • Not accommodated. You are placed on the program's waiting list. Those on the waiting list are reviewed again once they provide the Paul Merage School of Business with any new or additional information, such as an updated GPA. If you are not accommodated within that academic year, you must reapply for the following year.

Note: Although applications are accepted on a quarterly basis, the majority of the program's students are admitted in the spring quarter.

Management Minor

Any student who will reach upper-division standing by the quarter for which they are applying, and who has completed or is currently completing all necessary prerequisites, is eligible to apply. There are a limited number of students admitted to the minor each quarter. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply.

When should I apply?

Students should apply in the quarter that they plan to complete all the program prerequisites requirements. Please be advised that applications are processed ONCE per quarter. The application deadline is Friday of the 6th week of the quarter (at 5:00 p.m.)

When will I be notified?

Applicants that meet the deadline are notified of their admission status via email by the 8th week of the quarter. Your admission status will be one of the following:

  • Admitted. You may request TELE/WEBREG authorization codes for enrollment in the minor courses.
  • Conditionally admitted. You may request TELE/WEBREG authorization codes once evidence of completion of the prerequisites is submitted.
  • Not accommodated. You are placed on the program's waiting list. Those on the waiting list are reviewed again once they provide the Paul Merage School of Business with any new or additional information, such as an updated GPA. If you are not accommodated within that academic year, you must reapply for the following year.
